Management of drinking water

Water is essential to life and that is why it is crucial to ensure its preservation. In Quebec and in Canada, we tend to forget its importance because blue gold abounds with us. Indeed, with less than 1% of the world’s population, we own more than 20% of all the freshwater resources on the planet! Contrary to popular belief, only 9% of these resources are renewable. Moreover, with climate change, the water cycle is likely to be highly disrupted and therefore we must take seriously any measures aimed at saving water.

In 2016, the Municipality of Bury introduced a Bylaw encouraging the responsible use of drinking water (bylaw number 427-2016).
